New bridal store, Best Wedding Favors,
has international flair.

Weddings usually mean gifts for the brides and groom in America. But in Thailand, favors for the guests are just as important.
One thing that surprised Pat when she came to the United States from Bangkok, Thailand, was the lack of favor shops, something common place in her country. Pat had come to the United States to attend the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and learn more about the hotel industry.
Pat, along with her husband, Charles, recently opened Best Wedding Favors in Henderson. The store stocks many items such as mini champagne glasses, different types of boxes and bags, personalzied ribbons , and personalized poker chips.
"I just wanted to bring happiness to people," Pat said. "Bring me a box and I will think of a design for you."
The store offers all the pieces so that a person could put together the favors themselves., but the store also offers assembly services.
Pat & Charles say that during the summer months, beach theme favors such as shells are popular. When the weather turns cool, consumers go for the candles and boxed chocolates.
Best Wedding Favors began as an Internet business in 2000. Charles said it was so successful the couple decided to open a storefront. The couple looked at locations all around the valley before deciding on Henderson.
"It is a growing area with new couples coming in", he said. It is a pretty area. Everything is classy."
The couple wants customers to feel comfortable in the store, which boasts pale pink walls with designs hand painted by a local artist.
"We provide a service people have been looking for," Charles said. "Once people find our store, they come back."
Many of the items the store sells are less than $1, which the couple says is important when people need to buy in bulk quantities. Best Wedding Favors keeps large quanitities of most items in stock, so customers do not have to wait.

Best Wedding Favors owns a state of the art laser engraver that can engrave many unique items such as shot glasses, flutes, picture frames, cigar boxes and acrylic cake toppers.
Though the name of the business is Best Wedding Favors, the store stocks items for baby showers, graduations, religious milestones and holidays, also selling invitations for all occassions. It is open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays through Fridays. For more information, call 702-436-9955. |

Best Wedding Favors teamed up with Lite 100.5 FM and Suncoast Resort, and many other wonderful coorporations in Las Vegas and Henderson to support the Suzan G. Komen Foundation to support the efforts in Breast Cancer research. Best Wedding Favors participated in the Wine Affair in October to further support their efforts.
